Jam jars store jam, the Sun Jar collects and stores sunshine so you can use it at night.
When the Sun Jar is placed in direct sunlight the battery is charged (it takes a few hours to charge fully). This energy is then used at night to power the LED lamp inside.
The light emitted is diffused by the frosted jar and the result is soft and glowing. There are no visible controls on the outside of the jar, instead a light sensor inside automatically activates when it gets dark or the lights are turned out. An override switch inside the lid enables the light to be turned off at night in order to conserve battery life.
The solar powered lamp is set inside a traditional glass Mason Jar which is beautiful and by its very nature watertight, so the Sun Jar can happily be left outside in any weather conditions. A perfect garden light or night light for a child's bedroom.
